A New Record for Inglis June Weanlings

The William Inglis 2006 June Weanling Sale completed at Oaklands this afternoon with a new record aggregate of $3,610,300 for a total of 353 lots sold. The clearance rate was a pleasing 80%.
Lot 374, an Encosta de Lago / Clifton Gardens colt offered by Erinvale Thoroughbreds topped the sale at $100,000 to the bid of Greg Holmes.
A filly by Reset from Mathematical secured the second top-price lot. C onsigned by Collingrove Stud the September born weanling fell to the bid of Mark Treweek from Lyndhurst Farm, Cambridge, New Zealand for $90,000.
“The market was as strong as it has ever been for well credentialed weanlings” said Director, Peter Heagney “we are looking forward to strong competition on the remaining three days of the sale which continues on Wednesday and Thursday with over 400 mares to be offered. On Friday over 250 yearlings and racing stock will go through the ring, highlighted by the reduction sale of Mr Lloyd Williams”.
