Breeze Up Entries Closing - Encosta Colt A Highlight

3rd Sep 2008

Entries close this Friday for the Inglis Breeze Up & Racehorse Sale, to be held at Oaklands on October 26.

Champion Sire Encosta De Lago will provide a highlight of the sale, with his colt from the Bluebird mare Lake Alexandrina among the entries in the Breeze Up section.

This colt sold for $500,000 as a yearling in New Zealand and boasts a wonderful pedigree, with his dam being a stakes placed half-sister to Golden Slipper winner and Champion Sire Marauding.

Other entries to the Breeze up section so far include youngsters by Elvstroem, Flying Spur, Zabeel, Reset, Fastnet Rock, Danzero, Testa Rossa, Fusaichi Pegasus, Falvelon and Lion Heart.

“Local breeders have got right behind this sale and we are also receiving a lot of entries from Pinhookers in New Zealand, so it’s shaping up to be a very strong sale,” Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster said.

Online bidding will be a major boost to this sale given that nearly a third of racehorses at our last sale received an online bid.”

Racehorse owners looking to sell can capitalise on the timing of the sale around the spring carnival, particularly for horses on track to race over Cup week.

Breeze Up vendors will be able to stable their horses for a week at Inglis’ Oaklands complex in Melbourne and work their horses on the track prior to breezing their horses. They will also be able to breeze their horses twice (if desired) in the lead up to the sale. The fastest of the breeze up sessions will be posted as the recorded time.

Sale Date : Sunday October 26

Horses stabled from: Sunday October 19 and training track open Mon 20 and Wed 22.

Breeze Up Sessions : Tuesday October 21 and Thursday 23. Vendors can elect to do two breeze ups if they wish and post the best time and video online.
