Entries Called For Inaugural Inglis Australian Racehorse Sale

Entries are now being called for the inaugural Inglis Australian Racehorse Sale to be held in Melbourne on Sunday November 15.

Designed to meet an increasing local and international demand for ready made racehorses, The Australian Racehorse Sale has been strategically positioned towards the end of the Spring Carnival to maximise entries. The timing will also fit with the busy schedule for local and Asian based buyers.

Adopting a modernised format catering to both vendors and buyers requests, the latest in web technology will negate the need for timed trials of unraced entrants just prior to the sale. In addition comprehensive race replays of best performances and detailed form can be displayed online at the vendors request for racehorses in training.

“For young horses that have not trialled and are still in the early stages of their training, we will send a TVN camera crew to designated training tracks to film their track work 3-4 weeks before the sale,” commented Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster. “They may canter or work at three quarter pace to show prospective buyers their movement without the need to be fully wound up to gallop.”

“Buyers have expressed their preference for this format, particularly the fact they can bring their purchases along under their own steam to their first gallop.”

Footage and form will be loaded onto the Inglis website and DVD’s will be edited 3 weeks prior to the sale allowing sufficient lead time for prospective buyers in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, The Philippines, China and The Middle East to research the catalogue.

Inglis will actively recruit promising tried race horses from all over Australia to enter this sale. “Our goal is to assemble a quality catalogue of promising racehorses to ensure this becomes a must attend annual event for local, Asian and Middle Eastern based trainers, owners and agents.”

To assist vendors during difficult times, Inglis will provide free entry to The Australian Racehorse Sale for yearlings that are passed in at any of the Inglis Yearling Sales in 2009. Inglis will also offer travel incentives to assist international buyers to attend this sale.
