At Turffontein in South Africa on Saturday, Australian bred filly Igugu (3f Galileo x Zarinia, by Intikhab) made a once act affair of the Group II SA Oaks over 2450 metres, claiming the third leg of the Triple Tiara by a dominant five and three-quarter lengths.

The Mike de Kock trained Igugu has been in devastating form this preparation and is the first filly in history to win all three legs of the Triple Tiara, her overall record now six wins and two seconds from eight starts.

Igugu was bred by Kia Ora Stud and fetched $65,000 when offered at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale where she was bought by Livestock Traders and was then re-offered at the Emperors Palace Ready to Run Sale in South Africa later that year fetching 1million rand.

She is now raced by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum and Mr and Mrs A J Macdonald and is the second foal of Zarinia (IRE), an Intikhab mare from the family of champion mare and Arc winner Zarkava.
