2018 Inglis Banner Final Field

The Inglis Banner, to be run at Moonee Valley this Saturday on Cox Plate Day, will launch the $8m Inglis Race Series for 2018 graduates.

With prizemoney doubled to $500,000, the Inglis Banner has attracted 12 entries, including runners for leading trainers David & Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig, Ciaron Maher & David Eustace, Tony McEvoy and Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott.

The highest-priced yearling in the race is Espinyaah, who was purchased by Emirates Park at the 2018 Australian Easter Yearling Sale for $750,000 when offered by Tyreel Stud. Espinyaah is trained by Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott who won the race last year with Setsuna.

In all, graduates from the three major yearling sales (Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale and the Australian Easter Yearling Sale) are represented in the Inglis Banner.

Saturday’s $500,000 Inglis Banner is not only the first race of the 2018 Inglis Race Series, it is also the first leg of the revamped $3m Inglis Triple Crown.

To win the Triple Crown (and a $3m bonus), a horse must win: EITHER the Inglis Banner OR the $500,000 Inglis Nursery (Randwick, Saturday December 15 AND the new $2m Inglis Millennium (Warwick Farm, Saturday February 9) AND the $1m Inglis Sires (Randwick, Day 1 of The Championships, Sat April 6)
