Inglis Digital Record Million Dollar Aggregate

Inglis Digital’s monthly online auction platform broke new ground on Wednesday night, with the January sale aggregate reaching $1,000,000 for the first time.

A total of 113 lots were offered in the first online sale of 2018, with three of those selling for more than $100,000, another record for Inglis Digital.

With an aggregate of $1,014,650 and a clearance rate of just under 80% Inglis Digital Business Manager Nick Melmeth said the online format has been steadily gaining traction in the marketplace since its launch in May last year.

“It’s been exciting to watch it grow in stature, which is not only reflected in the results but by the quality of horses we’re offering, as well as the vendors and buyers supporting the auction each month.

“This sale alone we’ve had more than 200 new registered bidders and were flooded with enquiries.”

Newgate Farm offered two high quality youngsters in the ‘tried horse’ category, 3YO gelding League of Nations (Medaglia d’Oro) and 3YO colt Bull Market (Written Tycoon).

League of Nations (pictured) topped the sale at $130,000, with Western Australia-based operation Gangemi Racing the winning bidder, after some hot competition from other parties.

Bull Market was the equal second top lot. The city-winning colt was secured by Tedwin Bloodstock for $110,000, alongside Greyworm, an impressive winner of three trials for Kris Lees.

Well bred More Than Ready gelding San Pablo, out of Chinchilla Rose, was the next best at $55,000, for Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, while Three Bridges Thoroughbreds sold broodmare Magenta and Black (Holy Roman Emperor), in foal to Frosted and with a Unencumbered filly at foot for $45,000.

“Inglis and the Inglis Digital team really believe in the platform and the service we can offer by selling bloodstock online, so it’s rewarding to have the backing of major industry participants,” Melmeth said.

“We’ve been supported by the likes of Newgate Farm, Australian Bloodstock, Ballymore Racing, China Horse Club, Darby Racing and Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott just to name a few.

“We appreciate their confidence in us and also the support of our buying bench.”

Inglis Digital have an online auction at the end of every month. Entries are now open for the February Online Auction and that catalogue will go live at 3pm (AEDT) on February 23.
