Inglis purchases Everest slot

Inglis is thrilled to announce it has purchased one of the 12 slots in the $10m The Everest.

To be run at Randwick on Saturday October 14, The Everest (1200m) will become Australia’s richest race.

Owners or trainers of Inglis graduates who are interested in competing in the 2017 The Everest are encouraged to express their interest by contacting Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster on mark@inglis.com.au or +61 2 9399 7999.

Expressions of interest are requested before April 21, but an owner of a top line Inglis sprinter is encouraged to raise interest in representing Inglis in the Everest at any time over the next three years.

Priority will be given to Inglis graduates that have paid up for an Inglis Race Series, past or present.

Ratings, recent form and preparedness for racing at an elite level in October will be key considerations when selecting the Inglis representative for the Everest.

Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster was excited about the prospect of being involved in what will now be Australia’s most lucrative raceday.

“I am delighted to be supporting this new initiative from Racing NSW and the ATC,’’ Webster said.

“The Everest is innovative, exciting and will now ensure that Sydney will be the home of the richest race day conducted in Australia each year, and the richest horse race on turf conducted anywhere in the world.

“Inglis is the only auction house to get behind the Everest, we feel it is important to have a slot to assist our clients to participate.

“I congratulate all involved in getting The Everest off the ground, in particular Peter V’Landys for his vision and passion and all the other slot holders.’’
