Pedigree updates for Easter Yearling Sale

She will Reign’s Golden Slipper victory on Saturday headlines a long and strong list of pedigree updates for the upcoming Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

The 2017 Easter Yearling Sale, where 480 yearlings are catalogued to be sold from April 4-6, will be the last ever at Newmarket before the company’s move to Riverside Stables at Warwick Farm.

One of many catalogue highlights is Lot 86, a Shamus Award x Courgette filly from the Yarraman Park Stud draft.

The filly’s Manhattan Rain half-sister is She Will Reign, the fairytale filly whose Group 1 Golden Slipper victory has seen her rated Australia’s best juvenile.

Other Easter pedigree updates of significance include, but are far from limited to:

Lot 48 (Tavistock x Bagalollies filly). Her brother Werther won the Group 1 Hong Kong Gold Cup last month.

Lot 84 (Snitzel x Colorado Claire filly). Her three-quarter brother is Gunnison, an undefeated son of Not A Single Doubt whose winning run most recently includes the Group 2 Todman Stakes.

Lot 228 (Smart Missile x Miss Dodwell filly). Her half-sister Kenedna won the Group 3 Vanity Stakes at Flemington in February.

Lot 251 (Pierro x Musidora colt). His brother Tulip won the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes and finished third in the Golden Slipper.

Lot 256 (Snitzel x National Colour filly). Her three-quarter brother Rafeef won the Group 2 Hawaii Stakes at Turffontein earlier this month.

Lot 267 (Exceed And Excel x Nureyev’s Girl filly). Her half-brother Hardham is a last-start Group 2 winner of the Alister Clark Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster is excited about the depth of the 2017 Easter catalogue.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m hard pressed recalling a stronger Easter catalogue than what we have produced this year,’’ Webster said.

“The vendors have done a fantastic job in presenting incredibly strong drafts and we’re looking forward with optimism to a successful Australian Easter Yearling Sale, the last ever at Newmarket.

“Recent on-track results, including the Golden Slipper quinella and Blue Diamond trifecta all being Inglis graduates, is fantastic for our clients and is reward for all the hard work they put in year-round.’’
