Time to celebrate breakthrough Group 1 win

In Her Time won the Group 1 she had been craving with a convincing victory in today’s The Galaxy at Rosehill.

The Benjamin Smith-trained mare had finished in the minor placings in three Group 1s prior to today but proved too strong at what was her first run since last October.

In Her Time (Time Thief x Hell It’s Hot) will now take on Inglis-sold weanling Redzel in what is shaping as a marvellous edition of the TJ Smith Stakes on Day 1 of The Championships on April 7 at Randwick.

In Her Time is a graduate of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale, where she was offered by Kanangra.

She was bred by the Estate of the late Denise Cobcroft.

Kanangra’s Fred Moses foaled In Her Time down as a youngster.

“She was always a particularly nice looking filly and she thoroughly deserves this Group 1 win,’’ Moses said.

“Ben Smith has done a tremendous job with her because he has shown her such great care.

“He hasn’t over-raced her and the family don’t like to be over-raced.

“I must also pay homage to the Cobcroft’s. Without them, this would not be possible.’’

Meanwhile the Sydney Cup beckons for Master Of Arts, who today added a third Stakes race to his impressive resume with a fighting victory in the Group 3 Manion Cup at Rosehill.

The 6YO son of Coolmore stallion Mastercraftsman followed up a G3 second-placing in Adelaide three weeks prior to add to his stellar run of form.

Master Of Arts was a $110,000 Waratah Thoroughbreds buy from Trelawney Stud at the 2013 Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
