Another star addition to the 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale has been confirmed, with Makybe Diva’s half-brother to be offered at the April showcase.

With huge international appeal, the colt, by outstanding dual hemisphere sire of champions Street Cry, will be offered by Tony and Deslee Santic’s MAKYBE operation at Easter.

Inducted into Australia’s Racing Hall Of Fame, Makybe Diva is the highest stakes earner in Australasian racing history and her half-brother is sure to be much sort after at Inglis’ famous Newmarket complex during the Sydney Autumn Carnival in 2012.

“He is one of the nicest colts I have seen during our pre-entry inspections around the studs”, Inglis Bloodstock Director Jonathan D’Arcy commented.

“A more mature type than Tugela’s earlier foals we have sold, this colt is sure to have plenty of admirers from both the Northern and Southern Hemisphere here at Newmarket next year”.

Apart from three-time Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva, the colt’s dam Tugela has also produced Group 3 winner Valkyrie Diva and Group 2 winning stallion Musket, who’s first yearlings will grace Australian sales in 2012.

In just a short period Santic’s MAKYBE have built up a formidable reputation of producing world class horses, such as Australian and European Champion sprinter and now dual hemisphere Coolmore stallion Starspangledbanner, and the Victorian operation will again bring another star-studded draft to Inglis’ flagship sale in Sydney.

“We are extremely excited with the entire draft marked down for Easter next year, but this colt is without doubt something extra special” said Tony Santic.

“The Diva gave us an amazing ride and being such a good type we are expecting big things from Tugela’s Street Cry colt that we’ll offer in April,” Santic added.

The 2012 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale will be conducted on 10th to 12th April next year, in between the Australian Turf Club’s Golden Slipper and Australian Derby meetings.
