It was a full house at Newmarket today, on a perfect winters day in Sydney, with an array of well prepared horses to tempt all in attendance.

For a total of 169 lots sold, the sale grossed $1,590,300 with a strong clearance rate of 86% and a healthy average of $9,398.22

Inglis Classic sale graduate ‘Little Miss Marnie’ was a stakes winner of the William Inglis Cup and returned to our sales ring to prove her worth yet again, in foal to Fusaichi Pegasus she was knocked down for $120,000 to the bid of Queensland breeder Frank O’Rourke. Leading Rosehill trainer Tim Martin took home a great mare and filly double, purchasing the stakes winning mare Broann in foal to Danewin for $70,000. and then following up with $120,000 for her outstanding weanling filly by Falvelon.

Inglis Director of bloodstock, Jonathan D’Arcy commented, “the strength of the market was highlighted by the fact that the sale was up $628,300 or 65% on last years Winter Sale with the same number of horses offered. Every category of bloodstock had strong competition with many interstate buyers present or bidding over the phone”.
